Design a Glass orb to fit into your next design or Logo
In this tutorial i will show you how to create your own glass orb for you next logo or template design.
Step 1.
Make a new document in RGB color, mine was about 350 pixels by 350 pixels at 72 DPI.
Step 2.
Create a new layer and use the elliptical marquee tool
to create a perfect circle. (Hold shift key).
Step 3.
Pick the two colors you want to use. I suggest using two shades of one color, the background color being lighter. In this case I have chosen blue.
Step 4.
Select the Gradient tool
, and hold shift, click in the center area of the marquee, and drag to the right. FYI: You can have the gradient type on Foreground to Background, or Foreground to transparent, slightly different looks will be obtained.
Step 5.
Create a new layer, and create a smaller circle using the marquee tool
, and make white your foreground color. Make your gradient tool go from Foreground to Transparent. Hold shift, click in the center, and drag up until you get what you see in the image in step 6.
Step 6.
Go to Edit>Free Transform, and stretch it until you get something like this.
Step 7.
Now go to the original blue layer (in my case it is blue). Create a new layer above it.
Step 8.
Go to your brush menu, and select the star brush and do some clicks with the smallest one. Then go up in size, and make fewer and fewer stars. The stars should be put around the top. When you are done, set the layer opacity to about 50%.
Step 9.
Go to the Blending Options and add these values in for an Inner Glow.
Final Image
You can have a play around with the orb and turn it into what erver you like.
